Honoring QEM for 20 Years of Excellence in Precision Machining

At EQI, we recently celebrated our 20th anniversary. Today, we’re excited to share this milestone with one of our key Chinese finishing facilities—Qingdao Effort Machining Co. (QEM). Over the past twenty years, QEM has set the standard for quality, efficiency, and growth as one of EQI’s most trusted global sources for line-ready metal components.

2005-2008

Building a Strong Foundation in Qingdao

Started out as a wholly owned subsidiary of Accucam, which is now part of EQI.


Opened a 19,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Qingdao, China.


Purchased its first Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and began building expertise in precision machining.


Specialized in machining brackets, pivots, plates, frames, and other complex parts.


Joined the Chinese Association of Foreign-Invested Enterprises.


2012-2013

Growing in Revenue and Reputation

Generated more than $10 million in revenue by 2012.


Recognized as an “Excellent Foreign Investment Enterprise” by the Chinese government in 2013—a certification QEM went on to receive for twelve consecutive years after.


Obtained its ISO9001 Quality System Management certificate, ensuring the highest level of quality and efficiency.


2014-2015

Expanding Facilities and Capabilities

Extended machining facilities in China to a total of 301,000 square feet.


Certified as an “Advanced Enterprise in Foreign Exchange Earnings Through Exports” by the Chinese government.


Enhanced quality-control efforts with the purchase of a Magnetic Particle Flaw Detector.


Designated as a “China Excellent Supplier” by John Deere.


2017-2018

Focusing on Quality and Continuous Improvement

Expanded its workforce to over 100 employees.


Grew revenue to over $18 million.


Passed John Deere JDS G223 Supplier Quality System audit with strong recognition for ongoing commitment to continual process improvement.


Obtained the Work Safety Standardization Certificate from the Chinese government.


2022-2023

Merging with EQI to Extend Capabilities

Merged (as part of Accucam) with EQI to form a global diversified metal components business, producing over 140,000 tons of metal annually.


Confirmed by John Deere as a key supplier.


Added more than 20 machining centers to its operations.


Grew revenue to over $33 million.


Implemented a new Enterprise Resource Planning System to streamline core processes into a single platform.


2024-2025

Celebrating 20 Years of Growth and Expertise

Will celebrate its 20th anniversary in September 2025.


Continues to be a John Deere Key Supplier.


Has added a sales department to help develop a domestic market.


Looks forward to future growth as EQIs trusted source for high-quality precision machining.
